Wordsworth is best known for Lyrical Ballads, co-written with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and The Prelude, a Romantic epic poem chronicling the “growth of a poet's mind.” Wordsworth's deep love for the “beauteous forms” of the natural world was established early.

I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Wordsworth appears to have been a sufferer not only from chronic indigestion but also from heartburn. He himself mentions a kind of derangement in his stomach and digestive organs which made writing painful. At the end of May 1801 Wordsworth gave up writing poetry altogether.
